High Tech Genesis looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in building full network stacks for embedded devices. This leadership role involves both technical execution and customer-facing work, including pre-sales, architecture, requirements, and solution delivery.

As a successful candidate your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Project Manager and sales team on services sales opportunities. (Work would include definition of customer product requirements, evaluation and selection of product architecture, determination of project feasibility, estimating costs and preparing development schedules).

  • Perform role of project team lead designer and team technical mentor.

  • Act as the customer facing technical expert for the project team.

  • Design and develop embedded software.

  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions involving device driver development, board configuration, operating system setup, and bootloader integration

  • Provide full lifecycle support across requirements, architecture, design, implementation, testing, automation, documentation, and peer reviews.

Job requirements

  • This role requires either US Citizenship or a Green Card and for the resource to be based in the United States or approved territory

  • The role might require a US Government security clearance

  • 10+ years of overall software development experience

  • Experience in Helix Virtualization Platform-HVP

  • Practical experience working with embedded and real-time operating systems (Embedded Linux and VxWorks are preferred)

  • Experience with low level software development experience (such as device drivers, board support packages, bootloaders, and board bringup with an embedded operating system)

  • Expertise with C/C++ language

  • Experience Safety Certification (such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 62304), Security (such as secure boot, FIPS-140-2) or networking (such as TCP/IP and TSN)

  • Expect up to 10% domestic and international travel

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in developing embedded real-time systems on various architectures

  • Strong troubleshooting, design and architecture experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Track record of estimating and completing software development tasks on time

  • Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working directly with customer

  • Ability to independently formulate direction given vague requirements

  • Proven strengths in leadership, planning, adaptability, integrity, and motivation, with enthusiasm for mastering new technologies.

  • Experience working with and guiding international teams
