Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who can quickly integrate into the accounting team, play a key role in reducing a backlog of accounting transactions, and support monthly financial close activities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes, with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in clearing a backlog of accounting transactions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Support and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to resolve outstanding transactions and accounting issues.

  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures.

Job requirements

  • French speaking is mandatory

  • Significant experience in general accounting, preferably in a Senior Accountant role.

  • Proven experience managing full month-end close processes.

  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

  • Solid account reconciliation and financial analysis skills.

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage high volumes of transactions while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software is considered an asset.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
