Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who can quickly integrate into the accounting team, play a key role in reducing a backlog of accounting transactions, and support monthly financial close activities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes, with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in clearing a backlog of accounting transactions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Support and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to resolve outstanding transactions and accounting issues.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures.
Job requirements
French speaking is mandatory
Significant experience in general accounting, preferably in a Senior Accountant role.
Proven experience managing full month-end close processes.
Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Solid account reconciliation and financial analysis skills.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage high volumes of transactions while meeting tight deadlines.
Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software is considered an asset.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
