Job description

WE'RE HIRING!

At HTG, you’ll push boundaries with the latest tech and collaborate with a team that loves what they do. Be part of a design services company that is amongst the companies that lead the world in technology and innovation.

Your next chapter starts here.

As a FPGA/ASIC Validation Engineer, you will verify and challenge a reference software platform where correctness and predictable behavior matter. This role focuses on hands‑on testing, automation, and system‑level validation—finding gaps, edge cases, and failures early to ensure the platform behaves as intended across real‑world scenarios.

In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain practical test scenarios that reflect real system usage and failure conditions

• Create and evolve automated tests covering functional flows, integrations, regressions, and error paths

• Actively run automated test suites and analyze results to surface stability, performance, and reliability issues

• Perform hands on testing across features and integrations to uncover defects early and often

• Intentionally push systems into edge cases and failure states to understand limits and resilience

• Compare actual system behavior with expected outcomes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance

• Capture clear, actionable defect reports and work directly with developers to diagnose and fix issues

Job requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience testing and validating complex software systems

• Strong ability to create effective tests, investigate failures, and determine root causes

• Proven track record of spotting unclear, conflicting, or missing behaviors during testing and raising issues early

• Ability to turn system structure and interfaces into practical test coverage without over‑reliance on documentation

• Solid experience running regression tests and analyzing expected vs. actual system behavior

• Demonstrated systems thinking — able to anticipate how changes or failures affect overall behavior

• Comfortable working side‑by‑side with developers to debug issues and verify fixes at the system level

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on experience testing protocols, system integrations, or standards driven behavior

• Experience validating and troubleshooting software running in Linux-based environments

• Exposure to techniques like fault injection, negative testing, or other structured approaches to stressing systems

• Working familiarity with modern C++ concepts and build/toolchains sufficient to understand behavior and failures

• Experience writing scripts or building automation to support testing and validation work

• Basic familiarity with modeling or traceability practices used to track test coverage and validation progress
