Term: Contract

High Tech Genesis is on the hunt for a top-notch DO-178 Compliance Manager to join our crew!

You will lead with expertise in:

  • Ensure compliance with DO-178C DAL A, and related standards.

  • Oversees that safety processes are being followed by the software developers. Reviews safety certification artifacts to ensure they comply with the DO-178C objectives and planning documents.

  • Support internal and external compliance audits.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring on DO-178C standards and safety practices.

  • This is not a SQA or a management job.  This is not software development work.  This work is analogous to Designated Engineering Representative (DER) artifact compliance reviews.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years VxWorks or other RTOS embedded C/C++ software development

  • Minimum 3 years focused on safety-critical systems and DO-178C compliance

  • Must be well versed in the C programming language

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., DO-178C, FAA DER) are desirable

  • Deep understanding of DO-178C standards, particularly for DAL A certification, and familiarity with related standards

    • Knowledge of requirements

    • Software high-level and low-level

    • How to review requirements according to our plan (and thus meeting DO-178C)

    • Knowledge of verification

    • How to test requirements according to our plan (and thus meeting DO-178C)

    • How to know if a peer review was performed correctly

    • Understands structural coverage analysis (code and architecture)

    • Knowledge of tool qualification

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and across multiple geographies

  • Meticulous attention to safety and compliance standards

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with configuration management, safety, verification, and code analysis tools

  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and V-Model software development methodologies

  • Background in the aerospace industry and understanding of regulatory requirements
