Business Analyst -Student Financial Assistance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale IT modernization initiative involving financial assistance, loan systems, case management, and financial integrations.

The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders, technical teams, developers, and vendors to define requirements, improve business processes, and support solution implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.

• Document and manage business, functional, non-functional, reporting, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

• Analyze current-state processes and develop future-state workflows, user stories, use cases, and business requirements.

• Manage requirements and traceability for large, complex software implementations.

• Analyze workflows involving loans, approvals, accounting, ERP/financial integrations, and regulated transactions.

• Translate business requirements into technical features and work closely with developers and solution teams.

• Support requirements for BI reporting and dashboards.

• Participate in options analysis, impact assessments, solution reviews, and business process improvement.

• Support testing, UAT, implementation readiness, training, deployment, and transition to operations.

• Support identity, privacy, authentication, security, and compliance requirements as required.

• 7+ years of Business Analyst experience.

• 5+ years working in an IT or software development environment.

• 2+ years working within government/public sector.

• 2+ years working with financial loan systems.

• Experience with complex IT/software implementations and large bodies of requirements.

• Experience with financial workflows and ERP/accounting integrations.

• Strong experience with requirements gathering, process analysis, user stories, use cases, and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing complex case management systems.

• Experience within education, student services, or financial assistance environments.

• Experience with BI products, dashboards, and reporting requirements.

• Experience with public-sector options analysis and large technology investments.

• Experience with identity, privacy, authentication, or security solutions.

• Business Analysis certification such as CBAP/BABOK or equivalent.

• Experience with SaaS, COTS, and/or custom software implementations.
