High Tech Genesis is looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer who has background in developing and maintaining dynamic infrastructure.


Key responsibilities are: 

  • Being a key player in supporting the infrastructure that hosts the platform and work towards operational availability & efficiency of its running
  • Work 9-5 with flexibility around extended hours (at times), no night shifts
  • Working within a team that keeps the operations of the platform running 24/7/365
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test, demo, and production environments as needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to escalations
  • Suggest improvements to product to make the application high performing
  • Contribute to and maintain a knowledge base
  • Implement state of the art monitoring and logging
  • Remain knowledgeable about emerging standards and trends
  • Being a key player in supporting the infrastructure that hosts the platform and work towards operational availability & efficiency of its running
  • Monitoring servers, storage devices and supporting network gear
  • Taking immediate corrective actions when alerts are generated to keep the system operational


Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) experience in the administration of enterprise-grade infrastructures
  • 2+ Years of AWS networking
  • 2+ Years of Docker and Kubernetes
  • 5+ Years of Linux administration
  • 2+ Years of Ansible/Terraform
  • 3+ years of Python
  • 2+ years of 24/7 on call kind of work experience
  • Holds AWS Certification and 2+ years of AWS Infrastructure experience
  • Expertise in infrastructure, service, and application monitoring tools
  • Must reside in PST time zone (Candidates from other provinces/time zones would be also considered – BC, AB, YT)

Desired skills:

  • Solid working background in operations and systems engineering
  • Skilled in cloud infrastructure composed of technologies such as Mesos, DC-OS Marathon
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch, Cassandra, Kafka, NodeJS, WebServers administration
